The South Church in Cameron Street, Stonehaven

Image information

Description

Stonehaven South Church in Cameron Street was built as Stonehaven Free Church to house the congregation which had previously met in Mary Street Free Church following the Disruption in 1843 when many people left the Church of Scotland. The foundation stone was laid by Lord Kintore on 7 July 1868 and the church was opened the following year. It has recently joined with Dunnottar Church to form Stonehaven Carronside Church.
