Description

The SCOTT family purchased Benholm Castle and the lands of Brotherton in the mid 1600s. They were local land owners and still held property in the area in the 20th Century. The enclosure holds a number of family gravestones including those seen here: ANNA KATHARINE SCOTT (1868-1948), DAVID SCOTT (1782-1859) and his wife MARY SEDDON (1790-1866), HERCULES SCOTT (1823-1897) and his wife ANNA MOON.
