John Murison bought Belmont House in Stonehaven as his family home when he married Jeannie Robertson in 1858, and continued living there with his sons following Jeannie's death in 1862. He sold the property when he moved to Glasgow with his family in 1871. This photograph is dated 1862 - just a few months before Jeannie's death at the age of 25 years.
